“Esh Builders did numerous projects at our home after a huge hail storm including roofs, gutters, skylights etc. They have the best employees in the industry as far as I’m concerned. On time every time and very respectful and their work is over the top! They have been back to install new front door and windows and I’m still having them back to do other projects. I would not hire another contracting business. The buck stops with Esh. Thanks Matt and all of your wonderful employees for being the best!”

Doors questions, answered

How do I know if I want a fiberglass or steel entry door?

It comes down to what you want the door to do. Steel is the value pick. Our Legacy doors are heavy 20-gauge steel, tough to beat for security and a solid price, though a hard knock can dent them and bare steel will rust if the finish ever gets scratched through. Fiberglass costs more, but it will not dent or rust, it insulates better, and lines like Signet and Ascent carry a woodgrain you can stain to look like real wood. If the budget is the main thing, go steel. If you want the wood look, the best insulation, or a door that shrugs off daily wear, fiberglass earns its price. Tell us how the entry gets used and which way you lean, and we will point you to the right one.

Can you match my existing door style?

Usually, yes. ProVia's panel styles, glass, colors, and hardware cover most of what we see on Central PA homes, and you can browse all of it on our doors options page. Bring us a photo of your door and we will tell you honestly how close we can get.

Do fiberglass doors really look like real wood?

Close enough that most people cannot tell from the porch. The woodgrain is molded right into the fiberglass, then stained the way you would stain a wood door, so you get the grain and the depth without the cracking, warping, or repainting that real wood asks for. Signet gives you the widest range of grains and stains, and Ascent carries a deep White Oak grain. Come see a stained sample in person and decide for yourself.

How long does a new entry door take to install?

The install itself is usually a day. Because ProVia builds each door to order, the longer part is the wait for it to be made, and that runs a few weeks depending on the line and the options you pick. We will give you a real timeline when we measure, and we will not tear out your old door until the new one is on-site and ready to hang.
